The new Bluegrass Stockyards is great, with a well-thought out design and well-planned for the future. The integration designed to draw in others besides cattlemen is genius. They’ve made it not only a business but a social setting.

In the process, they are educating through socialization the urban-city folks about the cattle industry with the stores and great restaurant. The unique environment blends these urban-city folks with country so they can see that the cattle industry is good, healthy and sustainable for our society.

The percentage of cattle producers and farmers is growing smaller. The need to educate those that aren’t in the cattle business is very important as the whims, ideology and views of our society change. The classroom built for children is also a path in that direction. By two years of age, a child has been taught animal sounds. Every parent, whether urban or rural, teaches this to their children before they can pronounce most words.

Bluegrass Stockyards will prove to be a cornerstone for the future of the cattle industry, by a good Christian group of men and women.
