Salute to Time Magazine for choosing “Silence Breakers” as the person of the year, such as Ashley Judd, one of the first to speak out against powerful movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

I am encouraged by the shift I am feeling in the air. Women are no longer accepting that “boys will be boys” and are finding their voice. Women are no longer burying their true selves under a false self dictated by some religions and a patriarchal society’s idea of what gives them worth.

We are no longer buying into the “good girl” philosophy that keeps women silenced and acquiescing. A letter writer called her a disgrace, said she defamed the University of Kentucky and stated that Judd does not represent women in Kentucky. He is wrong. She does represent women in Kentucky, those who refuse to be suppressed by the likes of him.
