Prosecute doctors, not opioid makers

File art

Attorney General Andy Beshear is just grandstanding and playing politics. The Herald-Leader’s article about his lawsuit against drug maker McKesson is ridiculous.

Rather than going after the “evil” drug companies, he should investigate and prosecute the doctors who prescribe opioids like candy. It doesn’t matter how many pills McKesson sends to pharmacies in Kentucky, unless a doctor prescribes them they won’t get sold or used.

I urge the Herald-Leader to print the names of those doctors who prescribe large number of opioids. Doctors are regulated by the state, so surely that information would be available to state investigators and the public.
