Trump disrespects presidency

We are missing the bigger point in our concerns and fears about the president’s recent comments.

Yes, he may be racist, sexist, elitist and more, but the greater concern is that we have a president who is distracting our country from essential governing by his lack of respect for the office he holds.

President Donald Trump seems to have absolutely no idea of the historical protocol for presidents. Rather than carefully weighing his words and presenting his opinions so they can be respected, he exhibits no filter at all.

His blurts and tweets are often contradicted minutes later or denied the next day. I am so weary of people defending him and blaming the media when his own tweets tell all.

Trump’s bigotry comes as no surprise. He has openly insulted many international leaders and politicians in our country and dared a less-than-sane leader to start a nuclear war.

I quote James 3: “Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire.” Trump’s sparks occur daily, with the opportunity for damage that is already dividing our nation and that can destroy us.
