Democrats sunk low
What happened to the Democratic Party? It used to have integrity; now it has turned into a crying, screaming bunch of rabble. President John F. Kennedy would turn over in his grave if he knew. The Democrats’ total agenda for America is to vilify the other party and scream racism.
One reason the Democrats behave this way is because they are envious of the success of President Donald Trump. He has done a fantastic job. The economy and unemployment rate are great and there are no missiles flying over Japan. These are just a few of the good things.
Also, the investigation into Russian attacks on our election and possible collusion with the Trump campaign has been going on for nearly two years now. It’s time to end this farce.

Look at the numbers
Former President Barack Obama recently said he was glad the Trump administration had continued to grow the economy.
President Donald Trump’s supporters took that to mean Obama was responsible for the present economy, not Trump.
So in August, an economist appeared at a White House press conference touting the economy under Trump. But he didn’t compare job growth or wage growth between Obama and Trump.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in August businesses created 201,000 jobs. That 201,000 figure is exactly the monthly average for the last 72 months of the Obama administration.
In 2015, wages increased 2.5 percent.
In 2016, wages increased 2.9 percent.
In 2017, wages increased 2.5 percent.
Through June 2018, wages grew at the rate of 2.7 percent.
In Obama’s last four years, black unemployment improved 6.2 percent. Black unemployment improved 1 percent in 2017 under Trump.

Power of the press
I grew up in the 1940s and would sit in the front room and watch the radio. At that time, there was a program that told of newspaper reporting of famous true stories of crime-solving, natural disasters and the like.
The program would always begin with this statement: “The power and freedom of the press is comparable to a flaming double-edged sword. That it may be a faithful servant of all the people, use it justly, hold it high, guard it well.”
This is probably more pertinent today than ever.

Diverse views good
Conservatives and liberals basically are good, decent individuals. They are your neighbors, co-workers and family members. They are not monsters, criminals, torturers and libertines. Only extremist conservatives would say the rich deserve to be rich and the poor deserve to be poor. Only liberals at the far extreme would say that they shouldn’t be bound by conventions or morality.
Conservatives generally want to maintain the positive aspects of life that seem to keep society stable, safe and free. Protection of the rights of society as a whole and of our system of government is necessary.
Liberals, similarly, want to be open to things that need to be changed. Slavery was legal and had to end. Women did not have the right to vote and that had to end. Both viewpoints have value, and both can be abused.

It’s “Boy” Scouts
I am a Boy Scout and am working on my communications merit badge. I have decided to talk about Boy Scouts and why they are letting girls in next year. I do not understand why they are letting this happen.
I’m not saying that girls can’t be Scouts. From what I’ve heard, the Girl Scouts program is supposed to be the same thing as Boy Scouts, just with girls and less hardcore. I don’t see the point in why girls should be in Boy Scouts.
