Social Security no handout

I just read an article about the $19 trillion debt that blamed Social Security, along with Medicare, Medicaid, etc. That’s wrong, Social Security is not an entitlement. Working Americans pay into it all their lives.

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt promised they would get it back when they retired. It shouldn’t be costing the government anything at all. If it is, it’s because they have borrowed from it (and shouldn’t have) and then have to pay it back.
