Clinton delivered on health care
Sen. Bernie Sanders is promising health care for all. In his home state of Vermont, he was unable to deliver. When asked why single-payer health care wasn’t implemented in Vermont, Sanders routinely shrugs and blames the governor.
In contrast, when, as first lady, Hillary Clinton tried to get universal health care, she persevered. Health care advocates weren’t able to get all of what they wanted, but we came away with the Children’s Health Insurance Program for kids in low-income families. Millions of children have benefited from the program.
Many years later we have the closest thing to universal health care we have ever had in the Affordable Care Act. I don’t want to start all over again with someone who failed to accomplish what he is proposing in his own state.
