Yes, wait for Justice Obama

Noteworthy is the wisdom of Republican senators calling for President Barack Obama to not appoint Justice Antonin Scalia’s successor.

Rather than senators weighing the merits of a moderate nominee such as Judge John Rogers of the Sixth Circuit or Judges Patricia Millet or Padmanabhan Srinivasan of the D.C. Circuit, it will be far better for voters to have this constant election year reminder of Republican obstructionism.

The situation will be much improved a year from now when President Hillary Clinton or President Bernie Sanders will be able to fill the vacancy with a former constitutional law professor such as Obama or Bill Clinton.
