Capitalism has its benefits

A recent opinion piece by a retired Berea College professor suggests that we should replace our free-market capitalistic economic system with socialism.

Berea College is able to offer a no-tuition promise to all enrolled students and is able to do so, according to its website, because of “generous support of alumni, friends, organizations and others.”

I’m willing to bet that these donors are able to be so generous because they successfully participated in our free-market capitalistic economy. I wonder where the college and the professor’s job would be if we were operating in a socialist economy.
