Anger can backfire
A good portion of a recent Sunday’s morning talk discussed how angry Donald Trump’s supporters are. While Trump is screaming bloody murder, remember these wise sayings concerning anger:
“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” — Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism
“Anger: an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.” — Seneca, Roman philosopher
“Anger is a bad counselor.” — French proverb
“If you are patient in a moment of anger, you will spare yourself 100 days of tears.” — Cambodian proverb
“Anger is the only thing to put off till tomorrow.” — Slovak proverb
“To get rid of anger, first weed out the bitter roots.” — Zambian proverb
“Anger is never without a reason, but seldom with a good one.” — Benjamin Franklin
So, let’s not put Trump in the presidency, where every situation will be a real cliff-h(anger).
