‘Centre No Pointe’ fiasco
It has truly been a joke, a sore spot and a topic of debate like the bottomless pit that has become this city’s finest hole in the ground. What to do, what to do?
We tore down a city block for the Webb Cos. to begin this mess, and what do we have to show for it now a few years later? Do we have this beautiful skyscraper complex that will enhance Lexington’s skyline? No, but what we do have is an opportunity to make something communal for everyone to come downtown and enjoy.
Fill in the hole and make it a park with green space, fountains, maybe an amphitheater for outdoor concerts,and parking. You could even keep the CentrePointe name and call it CentrePointe Park.
