Think of UK ticket holders

This paper reported there were 7,000 no-shows for the Kentucky-Vanderbilt basketball game on a bad-weather day several weeks ago. That is about one-fourth of the capacity. Ticket holders were out quite a bit of money.

Do you think University of Kentucky officials cared about the no-shows? Probably not. Money from ticket sales had been paid months ago.

Most were old, like me, not wanting to risk a broken ankle or hip. Besides, old people don’t make as much noise as youngsters. Do you think UK gave one iota of thought about postponing the game? Probably not. It seems like UK is turning its back on the very people who have supported it all these years.

The next step for UK will probably require inclusion in your will before allowing you to buy a ticket. All honor and glory to the almighty: the dollar.
