Rhetoric not stature

The endless rhetoric (on every side) coming from the mouths of the many candidates for public office today is meaningless.

I remember the words of President John Kennedy: “Ask not what your country can do for you; but what you can you do for your country.” His foresight led this country to the technological developments necessary to put a man on the moon, and eventually even smart phones.

President Ronald Reagan had the strength of the United States behind him when he uttered the words “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this (Berlin) wall.” And it did happen.

Why do those running for public office today not show this stature?

John Mitchell
