Sheriff deputies due vindication

The jury has spoken in a case brought by former deputies seeking back overtime wages. Though we don’t agree with their finding we accept it.

But all of the current and past deputies of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office know the truth. This is just another example of the old saying “Walk in my shoes.” To really understand the employment conditions under Sheriff Kathy Witt you have to work under them.

Somehow I wish the jury in the overtime trial could have done just that. Current and past deputies know of the abuses that Witt has inflicted on her employees but somehow she always seems to get away with it. But one day all of the current and past deputies will be vindicated. I truly believe that.
