Stand against LGBT bullies
Hurrah for North Carolina’s Gov. Pat McCrory and its legislature.
Much is spoken and and written about bullying in this country. Most of it involves the wringing of hands and entreating the bullies to be good boys and girls or, failing that, tattling to overlords, whoever they may be. As all sensible people understand, the only way to stop a bully is to punch him in the nose. You may get a shiner or a trip to the principal’s office, but the bully will move on to a softer target.
So it is with corporate and government bullies. They are first and foremost cowards. They seek to dominate those they may scare with howling and fearful threats.
North Carolina should stand firm. It should tell Hollywood to keep its film projects, and the state will keep its integrity and hold fast the innocence of its children. See if Apple and its fascist friends are willing to abandon millions of dollars of investments. Finally, ask the NFL if it is really willing to forgo the income and goodwill of hundreds of thousand of Carolina Panthers fans.
