Climate news choices biased
I am a retired journalist who moved to Lexington four years ago and read your newspaper every day. When it comes to reporting the news about climate change, once known as global warming, there is a complete absence of objectivity and fairness on the Herald-Leader news pages.
I have yet to see one story that presents evidence that global warming is not caused or influenced by mankind.
As a former editor, I understand that what the paper chooses not to report is as important as what it elects to publish. On this issue, where is the Herald-Leader’s objectivity and fairness?
There have been countless stories predicting catastrophic consequences, stories based on highly questionable computer models. Does anyone at the paper ever follow up on those predictions?
Is the paper committed to the cornerstone of responsible journalism? If so, start acting like it.
