Shift in political reality

I thought a person who held public office and gave outstanding and exceptional service would be retained in the office. Why is Adam Edelen not the state auditor? Did he call attention to some corrupt officials that caused him to be turned away from the office he held?

Second, how can a person who is not a member of a political party seek to be the nominee of that party for the presidency? Bernie Sanders is a democratic socialist who proclaims this country needs a political revolution.

I have been interested in politics and government as far back as I can remember. My interest and activities led me to a degree in political science at Transylvania University, and on to study public administration at the University of Kentucky. I have served on the political committees of my party at the local and state levels. I served on a congressional staff before I served over three decades in a local elective office.

Apparently, all my experiences were for naught, as I observe the present state of politics and government in my state and my country.
