Hillary Clinton no bargain
Remember when someone said we got two-for-one when Bill Clinton was elected president? What did we get?
Fast-track exportation of blue-collar jobs with NAFTA, and now Hillary Clinton likes the special visas for foreigners to come here and take white-collar jobs.
The Clinton administration did welfare reform, cutting food stamps and increasing the number of people in poverty. The administration fought crime, overloading our prisons with people convicted of minor offenses and built more prisons.
The repeal of Glass-Steagall was added at the last minute to the must-pass budget bill. Ten years later came the Great Recession.
Then Hillary Clinton became a senator and voted for the Iraq war, which she says was a mistake but apparently not a big one, since, as secretary of state, she pushed for Gaddhafi’s downfall in Libya.
The last time she ran for president, she was losing to Barack Obama late in the primary season when someone asked why she was staying in the race. She reminded them that Bobby Kennedy was shot in June. And still the black community supports her.
And there’s her opposition to the XL pipeline and Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact, two things she once supported but the voters didn’t.
