Unendorsed candidate response: Geoff Young
I am the stronger candidate to take on Barr
I’m an expert in foreign and military policies, and I plan to attack Andy Barr relentlessly on the issues.
The Democratic Party establishment, based in Frankfort, keeps nominating unqualified candidates and can’t figure out why Republicans such as Barr and Mitch McConnell keep winning elections.
Since January, my establishment opponent in the primary, Nancy Jo Kemper, has been ducking the most important issue: war and peace. Cowardly Democrats lose to Republicans. She’s 99 percent unqualified to beat Barr in November, whereas I have about a 50 percent chance to beat him. Fifty percent is much better odds than one percent.
In 2014, Alison Lundergan Grimes (establishment) could’ve beaten McConnell, but she followed bad advice and ran the most incompetent Senate campaign in the U.S. Unqualified Democrats lose.
The establishment backed Elisabeth Jensen against me in the 2014 primary, but you supported me with 39 percent of the votes. After wasting $250,000 to beat me in May, Jensen lost by a landslide to Barr in November, 2014.
Kemper is an even weaker candidate than Jensen. A vote for her on Tuesday is a vote for another agonizing, landslide defeat and two more years of the immoral, war-loving Barr.
The cowardly Jack Conway refused to debate me in 2015 and we ended up with Gov. Matt Bevin (Tea Party).
Democrats need to break this disastrous pattern. Tell the Frankfort establishment you’re sick and tired of their incompetence. Vote for Geoff Young on May 17 and turn the 6th District blue again.
