Kudos for tournament

I want to commend the Kentucky High School Athletic Association on the outstanding job they did in hosting this year’s Boys’ State Basketball Tournament in Lexington.

Commissioner Julian Tackett led a great team from the KHSAA that implemented a winning game plan.

As a former KHSAA Board of Control member, I know what it takes to make something this big happen. Knowing that months of work go into the planning, I appreciate even more the efforts of the entire staff. They deserve thanks from all of us who enjoyed the tournament.

During the tournament, I had the opportunity to talk to several people from other states. One couple from Texas, here to watch their grandson play, were so complimentary of the Lexington area and the professional way in which the tournament is handled.

As a Kentuckian, I am always pleased when I hear good things about my state and the tournament. Congratulations to all of them and best wishes for many more successful tournaments.
