Impressed by city’s kindness

With all the bad things that are going on in our world, I would like to tell the people of Lexington a good story.

I was there on May 6 for my granddaughter’s graduation from the University of Kentucky. On my way into Rupp Arena, I sustained a bad fall. My family was with me, but we were just astonished by all the people who came to my aid.

In particular, two wonderful women helped me and stayed by my side until EMS arrived. I know one of these women was an LPN, but the other was, like me, attending graduation from Louisville.

After EMS arrived, these kind women stepped back, but I did get a chance to thank them. The EMS staff were all wonderful and professional and took me to UK hospital, where I received excellent care.

I thank all the people who stopped to help and the EMS and hospital personnel. I came away with a wonderful feeling for the city of Lexington.
