A scare in a women’s room
I read Donnie J. Grayson Jr.’s April 29 commentary about why he thinks the obsession over who can use what public bathroom is idiotic. I wonder whether Grayson has ever felt physically threatened by another. Girls and women invariably come out the losers in such confrontations.
Perhaps Grayson should ponder my experience in a large deserted restroom at midnight at the airport in Los Angeles a few years back.
My husband was waiting for me out in the terminal so I was in the restroom alone when a “woman” came in and sidled over to me by the sinks, almost touching me, and started chatting. That’s when I realized “she” was a guy in drag — a big guy in drag. I grabbed my purse and hurried out.
Nothing happened other than my heart racing, but it could have. Until the world is perfectly safe for all, we need common-sense laws to help us on our journey.
