A May 17 letter says, “Our country is salvageable from the tyranny under which we now find ourselves,” and goes on to criticize our “elected president” for “changing … freedom itself.”
Well, now, what kind of tyranny do we have if someone can complain about it in a letter published by the newspaper? Has the writer been arrested? Have the editorial-page editors? Has the Herald-Leader been seized by the government or shut down?
And this Obama guy? You’d think, being born in Africa, he would make a better tyrant, since they raise them like weeds there. Why, he hasn’t even done us the favor of getting rid of Sen. Mitch McConnell.
