Pett depicts poetic justice
Kudos for Joel Pett’s June 12 cartoon on the Republican presidential nomination.
Kentucky’s senior senator, Mitch McConnell, has been left between the proverbial rock and a hard place, thanks to some of Donald Trump’s racist and continuing outlandish statements. McConnell has to embrace the party’s nominee while simultaneously wanting to run from him.
McConnell is, therefore, left in a position of scolding an errant child who is immune to scolding. After all these years, it appears that a form of poetic justice has finally caught up with McConnell.
