Frivolous use of tax money

How many needed services or infrastructure repairs are being passed up to renovate the old courthouse? Taxpayers are being asked to pay $30 million — probably a low estimate — for Lexington to have yet more restaurants, bars and office space, as if we didn’t already have plenty.

Yes, they will pay some taxes, which will go back into the city’s coffers to be spent on more frivolous renovations.

Residents need to demand the right to give input into how our money is spent because the Urban County Council hardly ever asks our opinion.
