Gray wrong on guns

Maybe the powers-that-be could remove “suspected terrorists” from our country instead of just putting them on a watch list and banning them from purchasing weapons, as Mayor Jim Gray advocates in his July 5 commentary.

Maybe, as a public servant, Gray could realize that the watch list is a direct violation of constitutional rights of citizens, considering that you can be put on the list for no reason at all. If you want to protect our citizens, remove these people you deem a threat instead of your typical democratic route, which is limiting the Second Amendment to those who actually follow the law. The last I checked, terrorists and criminals don’t follow laws as I and most citizens do.

So instead of typical mudslinging and running down another public servant, maybe Gray should focus on the concerns and thoughts of the vast majority of those he works for.
