Restore benefits

I want to add my voice to the people who are asking the University of the Cumberlands to reinstate the retirement benefits they had agreed to provide to President Jim Taylor and his wife, Dinah. I am appalled that the university board can deny Taylor the benefits he was promised and has earned through his 35 years of service.

Taylor and his wife devoted their lives to the growth and enhancement of the university. Their tireless work ethic and devotion to the school turned what was a local college into one of the best universities in Kentucky. And now, at a time when the Taylors should be able to enjoy the fruits of their labors, the university board is taking away what he was promised.

I pray that the board will reconsider and give the Taylors the justice they so rightly deserve. And, perhaps, if enough Kentuckians stand up for the Taylors, it will.
