Grateful to clerk’s office

On Aug. 5, I finally had the wonderful opportunity to officially marry my partner of 18 years at the Fayette County Courthouse. Before going to the courthouse, I had to go to the county clerk’s office to get my papers. I want to let everyone know I had a really good experience there.

Not only were the women in the office very professional, they also were extremely friendly and helpful. They expressed happiness for the two of us, as well.

I wanted to take a little time to write this due to some negative publicity Kentucky’s county clerks have gotten in the past year. I hope the women in the Fayette clerk’s office know their kindness and professionalism meant a lot to me and my new husband. It’s people like them who make me feel very lucky I live in Fayette County.
