Barr wrong on banking law

U.S. Rep. Andy Barr’s Aug. 1 commentary is wrong on several counts.

He criticizes the Dodd-Frank banking law for things it hasn’t done and some things it has done.

What Dodd-Frank did do was get us started out of the recession; what Barr’s feeble changes suggest are ways to allow the banks to escape the Dodd-Frank protections.

Barr should stick to something he knows more about — like a spirited defense of his party’s presidential nominee, Donald Trump, and his gyrations over the Khan family or Trump’s Russian connections.

Candidate Nancy Jo Kemper won’t do any of those things; she will do a lot more good ones.
