Solar energy saves money

As volunteers in the war on coal, we installed solar energy panels on our roof. In July, we converted the sun’s rays into 442 kilowatt hours. That was 139 kwh more than we used for the whole house. Kentucky Utilities billed us for a negative $18.

There is a nice rebate for solar equipment on federal and state taxes, which may expire at the end of the year. That brings the cost down, and I recommend checking it out. You don’t need sunscreen to enjoy the benefits.

The war on coal is really not the action of any persons or agency. Times have changed. Let us retrain coal miners to work in solar energy jobs. Our air will be cleaner, our water less polluted, and our electric power will cost us less.
