Crack down on horse thieves
While visiting my brother in Sadieville recently, we saw that another horse had been stolen on Burgess Smith Road. My brother’s horse was stolen on that road in May along with several other horses in the area. One horse was recovered at an auction in Owen County, and the sheriff’s office found that the horse had changed hands four times over a matter of a few days. One would think that the investigation would be able to backtrack and find the thief.
Horses are the pride of Kentucky and it is a shame that horse owners fear that they may be stolen, particularly in the region where horses are proudly displayed at the Kentucky Horse Park.
I hope a concerted effort will be made by law enforcement and the public to apprehend these thieves.
