Barr’s view of poor skewed

U.S. Rep. Andy Barr’s comments, proposals and perspectives should make people sick to their stomachs. He claims that poor people should be seen as assets and not liabilities. But I want a representative who does not look at them as either asset or liability.

Just because a person is stricken by poverty does not make them any less human. Human beings are not line items that corporations can simply manipulate like tools, and it is that same thinking that we must remove from Washington.

Barr also tries to peddle fiction as if it were fact, as he tries to deny the evidence that the conventional War on Poverty has actually made a significant difference in the lives of millions of Americans.

I have seen some people upset because this article was written focusing on Barr. However, I want to thank the Herald-Leader for showing us what incompetent, irresponsible and disconnected leadership we have representing us in Washington right now. If you’re tired of having the wool pulled over your eyes, I suggest you do what I’m going to do and vote for Nancy Jo Kemper as our 6th District representative to the U.S. Congress.
