Return to law and order
I saw that a black woman was killed by police in Baltimore recently. The same day, a white man was killed in Pike County. The woman met police with a shotgun; the white man pulled a beer out of his pocket. The woman had her 5-year-old son on her lap, and when she asked him why the police were there, she had taught him to say, “To kill us.”
While the man who was killed got a sidebar inside the Lexington paper, the woman’s death garnered condemnation across the media. Maybe the woman was taught the same lesson by her parents that she taught her kid.
President Barack Obama, by condemning police instead of using his pulpit to persuade his race to do the right thing, is complicit in the problems suffered by blacks in this country. During his presidency, he has changed by executive order laws he could change. He has ignored laws he couldn’t change, so it’s easy for criminals to think, “He’s got my back since he blames the police every time a thug has a run-in with police.”
Anarchy rules. The people in this country are fed up. They want to get back to the rule of law. Is that too much to ask?
