Parton concert too pricey
The Aug. 7 article about Dolly Parton’s appearance in Danville and her 50-year career, 25 No. 1 singles and current tour made interesting reading to this 50-year fan.
However, the incredible ticket price of $175 to $500 lost me. She is quoted as saying she feels more like a family member, “like an aunt or older sister or a friend” to her fans.
Take it from this middle-class fan; my sister, aunt or friend would never charge at minimum $175 to see her for a two-hour audience. While Parton’s fan base is among the 99 percent of us Americans, her $500 ticket price definitely limits it to the one percent our Democratic candidates also talk about.
I will wait for the $11.98 CD.
