Two-party cesspool
How did we get into this political cesspool?
We have a Congress so polarized that it is extremely difficult to get anything accomplished. Now our two major political parties have put forth presidential candidates whom the majority doesn’t like or trust.
The Republican candidate shows, through actions and words every day, that he is unqualified and unfit to be president. Yet a significant portion of voters say he is the person to lead the nation in a new direction.
The Democratic candidate has a career path strewn with scandals from Little Rock, Ark., to Washington, D.C. She is a liar, certified by the FBI director, and has shown that she can’t be trusted with the White House silverware or the nation’s top secrets. Yet party officials and loyalists say she is the best-prepared presidential candidate in history. By definition this includes George Washington and all of his successors.
We, as a nation, can and must do better than this. There are qualified people of integrity, principle, high character and reason in both parties who would give citizens better choices.
The Republican Party needs a complete reorganization, and the Democratic Party needs a significant reformation.
