Paul good for coal country
Jim Gray’s liberal puppets are at it again. An Aug. 15 letter accused Sen. Rand Paul of demonstrating “no understanding” of coal country, which is nothing but a reckless disregard for the truth.
The writer challenged readers to “cite anything” Paul has done for coal country. Surely the writer and Gray need educating on the subject, so here are some examples.
Paul introduced the Economic Freedom Zones Act. This would counter the depressive nature of President Barack Obama’s and Hillary Clinton’s war on coal in Eastern Kentucky by reducing taxes and regulations and increasing business incentives in impoverished areas.
Paul fought Obama’s oppressive Clean Power Plan, co-sponsoring resolutions to end the EPA overreach created to end the coal industry in Kentucky.
Paul cosponsored the Coal Jobs Protection Act. This targeted the EPA’s delaying tactics over the coal-permitting process that has cost coal country thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars.
Gray and his cronies are attempting to distract everyone from the truth that Paul is a champion for coal country while Gray is a friend of Obama and Clinton. And everyone knows that with friends like that, you can’t be a friend of Kentucky.
