You should probably vote Democratic this fall if you believe ... | Opinion
As many politicians and pundits have observed, this Election Day, Nov. 5, 2024, may be the most important day in American history. The outcome of this election, especially the White House and both Houses of Congress, will likely determine the future direction of the United States for generations to come. The political, economic, sociological and ideological differences between the two parties — encompassing not just Democrat vs. Republican but Globalist vs. Populist or Socialist vs. Capitalist ideologies — is so wide it cannot be bridged, nor can the differences be resolved by compromise or consensus.
As a well-educated lay person when it comes to politics, I’ve spent many hours getting feedback from all primary sources available to me via my television set and newspapers. I believe I could speak knowledgeably on a variety of current political and cultural topics, and I’ve come to form my own opinions and conclusions based on my overall assessment of this information. In trying to determine who will get my vote this fall, I have stumbled upon 20 good reasons why voters — especially those who may still be undecided voters — may want to seriously consider voting for a Democratic candidate this fall.
You should probably vote Democratic if:
1. You believe you are better off now than you were four years ago;
2. You believe “Democracy” is epitomized by trying to keep your leading political opponent off the ballot or disenfranchising 14 million primary voters in your own party by forcing its own candidate to quit or handing out student debt relief after SCOTUS ruled that unconstitutional;
3. You feel good about the fact that our major geopolitical enemies — China, Russia and Iran — have explicitly endorsed the Biden-Harris regime via their statements, interference efforts in our elections, and other actions. According to the FBI and Intelligence Community, Iran put former President Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo and John Bolton on hit lists to avenge the assassination of Gen. Soleimani. And on Aug. 1, Putin okayed a hostage swap undoubtedly at a time precisely meant to make Vice-President Kamala Harris & Co. look good and enhance her electoral chances.
4. You believe we should perpetuate never-ending wars in distant lands that don’t serve the interests of America (yes, I agree that many RINOs are equally culpable here);
5. You believe in the right to elective abortions in the 3rd trimester;
6. You believe climate change is a bigger and more immediate existential threat to this country than is China;
7. You believe that unlimited spending and borrowing isn’t mortgaging our children’s future while being the root cause of inflation;
8. You believe that biological men should be allowed into women’s sports and women’s locker rooms;
9. You believe the Supreme Court should be “stacked” or fundamentally altered via the imposition of term limits for justices;
10. you believe the legislative filibuster should be removed, thereby enabling a simple Senate majority to enact massive legislation that would impact the totality;
11. You believe “free speech” should be fact-checked and curbed;
12. You believe the Second Amendment — the right to bear arms — should be shredded;
13. You believe illegal immigration is the key to our salvation and bears no cost on American citizens;
14. You believe law enforcement is the root cause of crime and criminals have greater rights than victims;
15. You believe America is a systemically racist country;
16. You believe that voters — especially relocated or first-time voters in a district — should not have to show IDs, proof of citizenship and show that they are registered to vote in that District;
17. You believe it’s okay for one political party to weaponize the FBI & DOJ to persecute members of another political party in the name of “Democracy;”
18. You are willing to tolerate or support anti-Semitism;
19. You believe race, creed, religion, gender or national origin should be a prime factor in determining winners and losers;
20. You hate Trump more than you love this country.
If you, indeed, believe in most or all of these statements, you should definitely vote Democratic this fall.
