Chiefs Channel Taylor Swift to Tease 2026 Opponents Before Schedule Release
NFL teams take schedule release week very seriously.
The league is slowly revealing primetime matchups, such as the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants as the first “Sunday Night Football” matchup of 2026 and the Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles clashing on Thanksgiving. Every team’s full schedule will be released on Thursday night, and every team uses that time annually to let the social media team cook.
The Kansas City Chiefs got a head start.
The Chiefs channeled Taylor Swift‘s love of sourdough bread to tease their 2026 opponents in an X thread posted Monday night. My personal favorite was Pitbull’s face toasted into a loaf to represent the Miami Dolphins.
The Chiefs’ 2026 home opponents are the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, and New York Jets. They will play away against the Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks.
Swift disclosed her love of baking sourdough while making her podcast debut on “New Heights” with Jason and Travis Kelce last August.
“I have a different baking obsession every six months,” the world-famous pop star and songwriter said. “Right now, we’re very deep in a sourdough obsession that has taken over my life. […] Sourdough has really taken over my life in a huge way. I’m really talking about bread 60% of the time now.”
Swift entered the Chiefs’ multiverse when she began dating Kelce after he attended one of her “The Eras Tour” shows at Arrowhead Stadium in July 2023. Kelce has built an All-Pro and future Pro Football Hall of Fame career in Kansas City since the Chiefs drafted him in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champion, proposed to Swift, a 14-time Grammy winner, after recording this podcast episode, and they’re reportedly getting married in New York City on July 3 (via Page Six).
