Kentuckians in the Games: McCoughtry, USA women's basketball team face Canada in quarterfinals

Athletes with ties to Kentucky who are competing in Olympic events on Tuesday (All times EDT):

Angel McCoughtry (University of Louisville) — Women's basketball: USA vs. Canada in quarterfinal game, 9 a.m.

Rondel Sorrillo (University of Kentucky) — Track and field: 200 meters for Trinidad and Tobago. Qualifying heats at 6:50 a.m.

Mikel Thomas (University of Kentucky) — Track and field: 110-meter hurdles for Trinidad and Tobago. Qualifying heats at 5:10 a.m.

MONDAY'S RESULTS

How Kentucky athletes fared:

Anthony Davis (University of Kentucky) — Men's basketball: Davis had two points, three rebounds and two blocked shots in Team USA's 126-97 victory against Argentina in pool play.

Reed Kessler (Lexington resident) — Equestrian: Kessler and her American teammates finished sixth in team show jumping.

Richard Lambourne (Louisville native) — Men's volleyball: Team USA defeated Tunisia 3-0 to clinch the top seed in the quarterfinals. The Americans will play Italy on Wednesday.
