Mississippi State football star says he won’t represent Bulldogs until flag changes
Mississippi State’s top returning player has made it clear that he won’t represent the Bulldogs this season if the state doesn’t change its flag.
MSU senior running back Kylin Hill responded to a tweet from Gov. Tate Reeves over the flag issue on Monday, indicating that he won’t be playing this season unless the Confederate battle emblem is removed from the state flag.
“Either change the flag or I won’t be representing this State anymore & I meant that .. I’m tired,” Hill said in the tweet.
Responding to a tweet critical of his initial post, Hill said “Unlike rest I was born in this state and I (know) what the flag mean.”
Hill, a Columbus native, was regarded as a player likely to be taken in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he decided to return for his senior year to play for new head coach Mike Leach.
Hill had a breakout campaign as a senior, running 242 times for 1,350 yards and 10 touchdowns.
