Former Miss Basketball winner transferring from University of Louisville
Former Kentucky Miss Basketball winner Lindsey Duvall is transferring from the University of Louisville.
Duvall, a star at Bullitt East High School, appeared in 49 games for the Cardinals over the last two seasons. She redshirted her freshman season (2017-18) after undergoing a knee surgery, and would have one year of eligibility if she transfers to another Division I university unless granted a waiver by the NCAA.
Duvall averaged 3.1 points and 6.5 minutes as a redshirt freshman, then 2.0 points and 6.2 minutes this past season.
Mark Ennis, a radio personality based in Louisville, first reported Monday that Duvall entered the NCAA transfer portal. U of L Coach Jeff Walz confirmed that report at news conference later in the day.
“Her aspirations were to play more,” Walz told reporters. “She was able to look at what’s here right now and know that would be a bit of a challenge.”
A five-star recruit and considered the No. 24 player in the country by ESPN coming out of high school, Duvall was named Kentucky’s Miss Basketball in 2017. She averaged 23.6 points and 8.3 rebounds as a senior after missing most of her junior season due to surgery to remove a tumor in her knee.
Duvall originally was committed to Kentucky before ultimately signing with Louisville.
