The New Orleans Pelicans’ Anthony Davis was named the Western Conference’s player of the week for games played Nov. 14 through Nov. 20.

The Pelicans went 3-0 last week in games the former University of Kentucky star played (3-1 overall) as he averaged a league-high 33.7 points, led the West with 13.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks, and added 2.0 steals.

He scored 38 points in each of his last two games of the week — victories over the Portland Trail Blazers and Charlotte Hornets — to raise his season average to an NBA-high 31.7 points.

He also set a season high with six assists in the win over Portland on Nov. 18 and grabbed 16 rebounds in the overtime victory against Charlotte on Nov. 19.

The Chicago Bulls’ Jimmy Butler won the weekly award for the Eastern Conference.

Butler helped the Bulls to a 3-1 week, with all victories coming on the road, by averaging 27.3 points (second in the East), 9.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
