The NBA Development League named former University of Kentucky standout DeAndre Liggins its Performer of the Week. The 6-foot-6 forward led Sioux Falls to a 3-0 week, averaging 17.3 points, 9.0 assists, 8.7 rebounds and 3.3 steals. On Dec. 27, he posted his second triple-double of the season with 14 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds in a 106-101 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
The list of other players considered for the award also included former UK standout Dakari Johnson (Oklahoma City) and former Louisville star Montrezl Harrell (Rio Grande Valley).
For the season, Liggins is averaging 13.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.1 assists (third in the league) and 2.5 steals (second in the league).
Liggins is 20th on the league’s most recent “Prospect Watch” list. Andrew Harrison, who plays for the Iowa Energy and has missed three games with an injury, is ranked 22nd.
