Randall Cobb headed back to Green Bay after chest injury
Randall Cobb was supposed to return to Green Bay on Monday night, what Packers Coach Mike McCarthy called a positive sign after the receiver suffered a chest injury that knocked him out of the playoff game on Saturday night against Arizona.
The former University of Kentucky star got hurt while backpedaling for a diving, 51-yard catch in the first quarter that was later negated by offsetting penalties.
He was spotted hunched over on the field during a stoppage and spitting up blood.
McCarthy said Monday night there was initially “high concern” for Cobb after he was taken to the hospital. He remained hospitalized overnight for observation before getting discharged on Sunday.
McCarthy said that “the fact that he was able to be transported today is obviously a really good sign.”
