Anthony Davis injures toe in warm-ups, misses game vs. Timberwolves
New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis missed Saturday night’s game against Minnesota after spraining his right big toe during pregame warm-ups.
The team announced that will be listed as day-to-day on the injury report. This was the seventh game Davis has missed this season.
New Orleans at 23-34 was on the outside looking for a Western Conference playoff spot, trailing eighth-place Houston by 5 1/2 games.
New Orleans doesn’t play again until Wednesday at Houston.
The All-NBA first-team selection from last year is averaging 24.0 points and 10.3 rebounds. He scored 59 points with 20 rebounds on Feb. 21 at Detroit.
The former University of Kentucky star joined Wilt Chamberlain and Shaquille O’Neal as the only players in NBA history with at least 55 points and 20 rebounds in one game and the fourth in the last 40 years to score at least 50 points with 20 rebounds.
