Hornets’ Aaron Harrison scores season-high 34 points in D-League game

Charlotte Hornets rookie guard Aaron Harrison, on assignment with the D-League Erie BayHawks, scored a season-high 34 points in the team’s 122-111 loss to Canton on Saturday night.

The former University of Kentucky star was 6-for-11 from three-point range and 8-for-10 from the free-throw line. He also had four rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot.

Harrison has averaged 19.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 33.3 minutes in six games with Erie. He’s 11-for-34 — 32.3 percent — from three-point range for the BayHawks. His previous scoring best was 20 points in Erie’s loss to Westchester on March 18.

He previously played in four D-League games for the Oklahoma City Blue, averaging 9.3 points significantly less playing time (18.5 minutes per game).

Harrison has played in 18 games this season for the NBA’s Hornets, averaging 0.7 points and 0.6 rebounds in 4.1 minutes per game.
