Kentucky volleyball’s dramatic five-set victory over Western Kentucky last week earned it a spot in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 at home in Memorial Coliseum, but it did not earn the best time slot for fans to see it.

No. 4 Kentucky will take on No. 13 BYU at noon Friday in Memorial, but because it’s set during UK’s business hours, fans who want to take in the action will need to park at the South Limestone Garage until it fills up or at Kroger Field, where a free shuttle will be available.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU as part of a full slate of college volleyball that runs on the channel from noon Friday until after midnight.

Friday, fans may park for free at the South Limestone Garage until it’s filled. Fans can also park in the Kroger Field Green Lot, located on the Cooper Drive side of the stadium. Shuttle service from Kroger Field’s Gate 4 to Memorial will begin running at 10 a.m.

All E-lots surrounding Memorial Coliseum, including the North Craft, Rose Street and Linden Walk employee lots will not be available for event parking until after 1 p.m. Friday, UK said. That is one hour after UK’s game time, but they would be useful for the second match.

Disabled parking is available on Friday in the North Craft lot, but spaces are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Following Friday’s UK game, Colorado will face No. 5 Nebraska at 2 p.m.

For the Elite Eight match at 4 p.m. Saturday, all the lots around Memorial, usually available for event parking, will be open.

Regional honors

Five Kentucky players earned All-Southeast Region honors with Leah Edmond being named the region’s player of the year and Madison Lilley garnering freshman of the year, according to the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

In addition to Edmond and Lilley, seniors Kaz Brown, Ashley Dusek and Emily Franklin made the 14-player all-region list. Each player was also an All-SEC selection.
