For the first time since 2014, and the sixth time under Coach Brian Craig, the Kentucky men’s golf team is going to the NCAA Championship.

Kentucky earned the bid with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Regional on Wednesday. UK was one of five teams from the regional — all from the Southeastern Conference — to advance to the national finals, which will be held May 27-June 1 in Eugene, Ore. Oregon is the host school for the championship.

Sophomore Tyler “Chip” McDaniel (6 under, tied for fourth) and freshman Lukas Euler (4 under, tied for sixth) finished in the top 10. Senior David Snyder shot a 3-under 69 in Wednesday’s final round.

“I am so proud of the way our guys played,” Craig said. “It was an unbelievably tremendous team effort. ... I cannot wait to get out to Eugene, Ore., and represent the Big Blue Nation with these guys in the finals.”

Each of the six regions will have five teams in the NCAA championship field.
