The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s soccer teams will host their first-ever Fan Day to celebrate the start of the 2016 season, the school announced Wednesday.

Fan Day is scheduled for Aug. 13. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. at the Wendell and Vickie Bell Soccer Complex on Alumni Drive.

Fans will be able to purchase 2016 season ticket scarves, meet the men’s and women’s soccer teams, get autographs from and photos taken with their favorite players and coaches, watch a soccer skill challenge, and enjoy free pizza and drinks.

Later the same day, the UK women will play their only preseason exhibition, taking on the University of Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. Admission to the match is free.

UK’s men’s team is coming off a 2015 Conference USA regular-season championship. The women are trying to reach the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in six seasons.

The UK men play two exhibitions — Aug. 16 at home vs. Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and Aug. 21 at Northern Kentucky — before opening the regular season on Aug. 26 at Marquette.

The UK women kick off their regular season Aug. 21 at Pepperdine.
