Kentucky, ranked No. 9 in this week’s Collegiate Baseball poll, comes in at 22-9 after taking two of three from Alabama in a Southeastern Conference series last weekend in Lexington. Sixth-ranked Louisville (25-7) is coming off a 14-2 victory over Western Kentucky on Tuesday night.

Wednesday night’s game was originally scheduled to be played last Wednesday but was postponed by rain. The rivals’ second meeting this season comes Tuesday at Louisville’s Jim Patterson Stadium at 6 p.m.

Wednesday’s game (6:30 p.m. first pitch) marks the 110th meeting between the schools. Kentucky leads the series 69-39-1 and is 33-15 all-time against the Cardinals in Lexington. The Cardinals swept the series last year, winning 2-1 in 10 innings in Louisville and 5-2 in Lexington.
